How can I tell if there is a composition claim for my song on Youtube?

Applies to Audiam and Music Services clients only.

For Audiam and Music Services clients:
Yes, we can check. Submit the YouTube Video Claim Inquiry Form and our team will review the video and tell you whether a composition claim exists on your song.

  1. Go to the YouTube Video Claim Inquiry Form.
  2. Enter your contact information.
  3. Provide the link to the YouTube video and the title of the song.
  4. Submit the form.

Our team will review your inquiry and reply by email with what we find. Include the exact video link, not a channel or search link, so we can review the right video.

If you are not a client
We can only review claims on songs we administer for our clients. Here is how to find out where your song stands:

  • Contact your publisher, administrator, or distributor. Companies with access to YouTube's Content ID system can see claims on the songs they manage. If you are unsure who handles your song, search your PRO's public repertory for publisher details.
  • Ask the video's uploader. Uploaders receive an email from YouTube when a claim is made, and can check the Copyright page in YouTube Studio to see whether a Content ID claim exists on their video.
  • If you have no publisher or administrator, ask your distributor whether they offer YouTube Content ID or composition services. Claims can only be managed by a party with access to YouTube's rights management tools.
