What Happens If My Work Is in Conflict on YouTube?

 A conflict happens when two or more parties claim ownership of the same recording or composition in YouTube's Content ID system. Until the conflict is resolved, monetization on the affected asset is paused. 

 What This Means for You

  • Claims stop. New claims based on the disputed reference are not placed while the conflict is open.
  • Monetization pauses. Revenue is not paid out on the affected asset during the conflict.
  • Your other content is unaffected. A conflict on one asset does not pause the rest of your catalog.
