What's an ISRC and do I need one?

The International Standard Recording Code (“ISRC”) is the international identification system for sound recordings. ISRCs are widely used in digital commerce by download sites and collecting societies.

When registering sound recordings with Audiam, it is not required that you include ISRCs, but it is HIGHLY recommended, as it will make Audiam’s registration process much faster and efficient.

If you have an agreement with a company that distributes your sound recordings, it may have already provided you with an ISRC. You should be able to obtain them by logging into your distribution account or by contacting your distribution representative.
